Food was fine, nothing spectacular but everyone enjoyed their meal. Ambiance was not as nice as we were hoping but the service was good.

confirmed reservations for 8, and table not ready and needed to organize for eight. Italian restaurant that is out of bread. Other patron sitting next to us mentioned as we were sitting down that they were out of bread. need to stop upselling. ask for tap water and billed for 5 bottles of sparkling water. chicken parm was unusual with chicken tough and un breaded. Lasagna was lost in salt. dishes smothered in sauces to hide portions. too many other good choices in San Diego. very disappointing

John, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize that your experience did not meet expectations. Regarding the bread, we do our best to keep all items available but occasionally experience shortages. We also apologize for any miscommunication regarding the water service—our team will ensure clearer communication to prevent such issues in the future. We appreciate your perspective and would love the opportunity to welcome you back for a better experience. Please feel reach out to me directly t coordinate. We were seated 20 minutes late for our reservation. We had a showtime afterwards, so made for a rushed experience. Restaurant could have comped us an appetizer or something to compensate. Otherwise, nice place and food was good.

As an Italian who visits a great deal of Italian restaurants in San Diego, I was not overly impressed with the experience. As private myself, one of the cardinal sins of Italian cooking is broken pasta. If you can’t spun it on your fork, there is something. Also, there was an over abundance of oregano in the red sauce and the choppino lacked richness. Not sure id make a second visit.

Dear Richard, Thank you for sharing your feedback. As someone with a deep appreciation for Italian cuisine, your perspective is truly valued. We regret that your experience didn’t fully meet expectations, particularly with the pasta and seasoning balance. Authenticity is important to us, and we’ll take your comments into consideration as we continue refining our dishes. We appreciate you giving us a try and hope you might reconsider visiting us again in the future. Best, Andrea Provino, Owner Osteria Cotto e Mangiato

Food looks better than it tastes. The seared Ahi was way overcooked. My linguine Vongele had no seasoning at all, No salt barely a taste of any herbs. The Seared Ahi was swimming on a plate of liquid,

This is a cute little Italian restaurant nestled at the top of Cortez Hill. The garlic bread was a great little appetizer before my rigatoni Bolognese. The service was super friendly thanks to Isa! We will definitely be coming back here!!

Cozy neighborhood place with genuine Italian fare. Well done! BTW, bring a jacket in case the door is open or you end up sitting on the patio.
