Once I got inside it was great, I usually have a good time here. This was my first time making a reservation, and I thought that would allow me to skip the line a little. My party and I waited an hour outside to be let in. While I understand there are capacity limits security kind of cherry picked who they would let inside. Never once asking the people in the actual reservation line if they had a reservation. The host was apologetic when we got in, but I wasn’t able to fully enjoy my experience because they closed an hour after we got sat. I’ll definitely be booking an earlier reservation next time but it was a pretty frustrating experience this go round.

This place is a vibe. If you’re into house with sprinkles of hip hop (or just open minded musically) you’ll like it. The drinks I’ve had so far were really good too, my fav being the Girl From Iwo Jima. I’ve seen reviews about the prices but $15 is 1000% reasonable for a craft cocktail. We also had the dark chocolate ganache cake which was amazing! I give El Malo a 10 out of 10.

I always get great service from the staff. On busy nights I recommend booking a red booth in advance.

I celebrated my birthday here on 11/30/24 for a party of five. Very good experience from placing reservation and receiving timely response to my questions online, to our arrival and being seated at reserved table section. Service was attentive and great. Drinks were great. Seating area was spacious and thankfully situated next to exit for an easy way out instead of having to deal walking through crowd as there was a special DJ performance that evening. Can’t really rate food service as the kitchen closes at 10:30pm and our reservation was for this time. Only thing to note is the bathroom situation as there are four stalls and had to wait in a long line for about 20 -25 minutes. There was a nice staff member facilitating the bathroom area/ line but the wait was still ridiculous. Please note there is a restroom located outside of this bar to the left of the entrance in the case a long line presents itself. Overall my party and I enjoyed ourselves and would return again.
