We visited about one month after opening. Jaji is promising but needs work nailing down the formula. Food: - Sticky rice croquettes — tasty! - Spinach and cheese galet — bad. Bland taste and lukewarm presentation. Come on, it's a low bar to heat the food enough! - Ground wagyu beef kabob — good, though a bit odd. It's basically hamburger patties served with bread, onions, and sauce, which you can assemble yourself — not a kabob. I really liked the green chutney (like a chimmichurri). But why charge $30 for wagyu beef when it's going to be ground and lose the distinctiveness? This would have been just as good with regular beef. Also, the pickled onions were great, but something left a *very* onion-y mouthfeel afterwards that wasn't pleasant — it might have been the chopped non-pickled onions, but I'm not 100% sure about that. Pay attention if you're on a romantic date. Drinks: Both cocktails sucked. - The Zira Gold (mezcal based) tasted like ...absolutely nothing. Very watered down. - The Saffron Martini was overpowered by its manzanilla sherry and didn't taste at all like saffron, nor could you taste the tequila base very much. Misc: - Pro: It was quiet and very easy to have a conversation. That's great and unusual these days. - Con: There's a 3% fee added before tip. Maybe you're the kind of person who doesn't mind about that sort of thing; I loathe it. Jaji had some nice flavors and a menu that truly excited me when I read it over in advance. But it's very inconsistent and too expensive for what you get. I hope to see it improve!

Innovative, fusion-style versions of traditional Afghani food, extremely well-made and delicious. The interval between dishes can be excessive; perhaps the kitchen was overwhelmed. Friendly and pleasant service, reasonable prices for the quality of food and wine. The noise level is very high because of the very high ceiling and lack of sound-absorbent surfaces; one has to speak loudly to be understood by the person just across the table.

Wonderful, beautiful , incredibly delicious food. We tried most dishes and then reordered more. Try the Bolani squares, the mushroom tempura , all the kabobs, the salad , the trout , the dumplings. The cocktails are amazing and the service is superb. Jaji is welcoming , lively and really well spiced , special food. Try it soon!

It’s supposed to be an Afghan Fusion restaurant but I found dishes that were not elevated. Overpriced and very mediocre taste.
