Midtown Oyster Bar is Newport #1 choice when it comes to the freshest seafood and the largest raw bar in town.

Our two story building offer 2 bar areas, the first floor tavern and the second floor Burgee Bar. Located right on Thames Street, there is no better place in town to watch the hustle and bustle of downtown Newport. Our tavern area has high top tables for a casual, bar atmosphere, where you can gather with friends to enjoy a great meal, or a few beverages. Three dining rooms and three outside decks allow for plenty of dining space as well as the availability for private parties.

Whether you are looking for casual snacks and cocktails with friends or a formal dining experience, Midtown Oyster Bar has everything you could possibly be looking for.

**In order to provide the best service possible we are limiting table seating to parties of 8 or less.
A credit card is required for reservations of 6 or more people. There will be a $50 charge for a "No Show/No Call" reservation.

Our first time dining at MOB and we loved everything about it. Great ambiance, not too noisy and the food was fantastic. Our cocktails were great, oyster appetizers were amazing and our scallop and salmon entrees were mouth watering! Quite possibly the best piece of salmon that I've ever had. Our server, Madison, was very attentive and helpful when it came to suggestions. Can't wait to get back there!

I ordered the swordfish and my wife the salmon. Her dinner was moist, tender, and tasty. My swordfish was tasty, but dry. I tried to ask for some melted butter to help add some moisture back, but I was unable to get the attention of the waitress who never came back to ask how our dinners were. I did mention to her at the end of the meal that the swordfish was dry and she said she was sorry. We usually go here for dinner when visit Newport about twice a year but I think this will be the last time we visit here.

The prices were high and the portions were small. We ate off the restaurant week lunch menu for $30 the portion was small. We had the return the swordfish pastrami because it was extremely salty.

We were seated in the upstairs area, which was a bit more quiet than downstairs. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and checked in to make sure everything was ok. We had the salmon poke and scallop crudo for appetizers. Both were delicious. Halibut and scallops for dinner. We both enjoyed our entrees! Great experience!

Service was good, food quality was terrible for the price. Prices were high which raised expectations. The seafood soup was way too tomato-y and we barely tested any fish. Octopus was overcooked, swordfish was overcooked, oysters were fine, nothing special, but way overpriced.
