We recently dined at the Skyline Club for Valentine’s Day, and while the option to purchase roses and have them waiting at the table for my wife was a lovely touch, the overall experience fell short of our expectations.
From the moment we sat down, it was clear our server was in a rush to turn the table as quickly as possible. A four-course dinner should typically take 90 minutes to two hours, but we received all four courses in under an hour. The pacing was uncomfortably fast—our server attempted to clear plates before we were finished and brought out the next course almost immediately.
When we paid, the server dropped the check and card on the table without a word, leaving us feeling dismissed rather than appreciated. At $140 per person, plus a mandatory 20% gratuity, we expected a special, unrushed experience—especially as we were celebrating our wedding the day before. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to that. We left feeling disappointed rather than celebrated.
