   Another wonderful meal at Johnny's and a fun night. We always like to sit in the bar area if it is Monday-Friday to listen to Mike Petrone play. He gets the crowd singing and is wonderful. The food is fabulous also. I had the beef short ribs and they melted in my mouth. Others had the crusted grouper and veal chop which was both excellent. Highly recommend.

   Their were Browns fans in the restaurant way too drunk slurring their words and shouting, being more loud then they should. They were being obnoxious and one of them had his hands down this girls pants right in front of everyone. We just finished our cocktails and ended up leaving. We couldn’t even stay to eat it was so rowdy in there. It was a bad choice for a date night.

   It was a slow Wednesday night. Traffic in the bar was light, but the piano player was energetically pounding out Christmas classics, with an occasional sing-along with the patrons. Tall ceilings and heavy drapdes provided an old-school charm. Our server was properly attentive and engaging without being gregarious. The food was much better than expected, given some of the reviews I had read. The "Italian Feast" was loaded with fresh, perfectly cooked seafood. My wife's Filet and Lobster in Puff Pastry was perfectly cooked and quite delicious, not to mention the portions of both dishes were enough for leftovers. Overall, a delightful experience and the prices are not outrageous. Cheers, Johnny's!

   Let’s start with the good. The restaurant was easy to find, quiet, decorated for the holidays, and the food was phenomenal. 10/10 food, no notes. The dining experience left much to be desired and this would eh true at any establishment, but especially when paying the prices one pays at Johnny’s. The service was slow and our parties food came out at different times. My two biggest complaints were that we were asked if we wanted refills on our pop, which we accepted, just to find out that each refill was an additional charge. If the pop was from a can I’d understand the additional charges, but it was clearly from a gun. My other gripe is that it was my partners birthday, which the establishment knew, and instead of either providing a free or discounted dessert or even just stating that the restaurant does nothing for birthdays, a single teacup candle was brought out on a plate as the birthday person didn’t buy a dessert. These two things just gives an overall vibe of cheapness from the establishment. I want to like Johnny’s more as the food was just absolutely phenomenal, but the food cannot outshine the combination of the lackluster dining experience and price.

   This was a bit of an odd experience, we have eaten at Johnny's more than 10 times over the years (between downtown and their location on Fulton) and this was not up to the standard that we have grown used to. Both the service and the food were off this evening, but I am hoping that Johnny's was having an off night and it will be what we're used to the next time we are in.

   Food was fabulous loved the peppers, Manhattan clam chowder, pasta dish with shrimp, and veal chop. Sat in the bar area by request to listen to Mike Petrone on the piano - he is fantastic and is there Monday-Friday.

   Loved our experience at Johnny’s Downtown for a client lunch. Decorated for Christmas and the service was fantastic.

    Cocktail had no olives. Grouper had no sauce. Kid’s portion of angel hair w marinara was so spice neither kid would touch it. Had to ask the hostess to track down our check and she was rude.
