Besides the locally caught fish (toro, uni), the quality of the fish was just okay. Most cuts did not have much flavor and the sushi chef did way too much in their preparation. Most pieces were sliced up and torched which felt like took away from the flavor and quality.

Azuki Sushi Lounge is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in San Diego. Their R U Kidding is one of the best rolls I’ve tasted. From the moment you enter the dining space, you are transformed to a chic, modern, and stylish Japanese experience as their attention to tasteful Asian art and chill music. I highly recommend you checking out Azuki when you’re in San Diego.

This is our first time at Azuki’s since being gone from San Diego for a year and let me tell you it’s better than I remember! We had amazing appetizers, drinks, cuts and rolls but the best part was the interactions with our sushi chefs. They were all so sweet and worked so hard. Dais did amazing all night and prepared us delicious sashimi & nigiri. We loved talking to Dais and Robin; they really made the experience special and a 5/5 for us! Thank you so much for having us again last night. See you soon!

We love this place. Abraham at the sushi bar takes great care of us. The food is spectacular and in my opinion the best sushi San Diego has to offer. For cocktails, the matcha man is a favorite and very unique with wasabi powder (it’s not spicy). You can’t go wrong with the spicy tuna crispy rice. It’s the best variation I’ve ever had of this dish. The sushi and sashimi are generously cut, full of flavor and always so fresh. As far as rolls go, I’ve tried most, however the Kobe roll stands out with its incredible flavor combination. I never thought of eating beef in sushi form but I’m now a believer. They totaled nailed it with this one! I’ll need to eventually try their hot food which I’m sure is great too. Make sure to make reservations in advance as this place is always booked.

Even though we reserved a standard table inside for the dining room, we were seated outside. We were told that because we made a reservation the day off, you can only get a table outside. Was a very cold night and ruined the experience. False advertising about the reservation and would have went elsewhere otherwise.
