Utsav is a bi level restaurant in the heart of Times Square located uniquely on a skywalk between two buildings. There is a bar on the lower level and the large upper level features floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking an open air plaza
Utsav is a woman owned restaurant serving NYC with Indian cuisine for twenty three years. Nandita Khanna comes from a family with restaurants in Calcutta & Tokyo. Her father started BAR-B-Q one of the oldest Indian Chinese restaurants in Calcutta That recently turned 60!
Nandita brings the recipes from her restaurants back home to NYC by introducing an Indo Chinese menu at Utsav. Her chefs are trained in the Calcutta style of Chinese food , the home of Indian Chinese cuisine in India
Utsav offers various rooms for hosting private events. There is a room which can seat 25-30 people & a larger one to accommodate 70-80 people. Please call our catering manager to find out more details, let us host your next event for you!

Fantastic restaurant place on a skybridge overlooking 2 streets. Great spot for pre-theater as you're probably only a 10 minute walk to get to your show. Food was delicious, and the staff friendly and attentive. We had seabass, one grilled and one with coconut sauce, and it was amazing and flavorful.

The food absolutely outstanding, tasty, well prepared. It's a really nice restaurant. The service was slow, unfriendly and not to welcoming. Otherwise, it's a nice place to eat, but don't expect a good service.

Utsav has been my favorite restaurant in NYC since 20 years. I’ve have been coming here for a very long time and yet I can say that the food quality, quantity, service has always been the best. They have been consistently good about keeping up the taste and quality of the dishes. The food is reasonably priced and portion size is good too. My fav there are methi mutter malai, chilli paneer, nolen gur ice cream and rasmalai. The desserts are a must try. Especially the Nolen gur ice cream. Not only the food, but the service is very good too. Our server Apolina was very attentive and offered us some good suggestions, the chef Uttam who makes delicious food and Remson who is so warm n welcoming everytime we go. A must go restaurant if you are in NYC.

Utsav has a very extensive menu and everything sounded wonderful, so it was hard to pick. We started with an appetizer from the Indo Chinese section. It was a beetroot croquette. The croquette was delicious and pretty spicy. We had the tandoori Cornish hen with fried okra. The hen was cooked perfectly and delicious. The okra was cut pretty thinly and was more like fried zucchini but still tasty. We also had the Saag Lamb and the lamb was very tender and the spinach was delicious. We had a side order of onion kulcha to sop up the sauce. We ordered wine by the glass and it was a very generous pour. We really enjoyed our dinner at Utsav. Just be aware that a gratuity was added to our check even though we only had 2 people in our party. It was a surprise that we might have overlooked. Would definitely recommend this place for pre or post theater dinner.
