We had a very nice meal sat outside on a lovely day. You can hear the road but it was still nice to be in the gardens. My only small issue with the food was that the preserved lemon pieces in my starter salad were very very salty. So I had to fish them out. Gluten free was very well catered for. My halibut was excellent. The rabbit terrine starter and the lamb to follow were very much enjoyed by my sister. An enjoyable visit and I hope to return.

I haven’t been here since I left London 11 years ago, when I would visit regularly with me mates not just for the good food or the excellent wine list but also for the service (after a walk round the daubs of course 😂) .....Nothing’s changed food, wine and service still bang on. The lamb was so succulent the skin was crispy and the fat had not been rendered out. The wine I chose with this was perfect

I love the Whistler it has been my favourite for years but things seem to be slipping. My £14 starter comprised a teaspoon of crab, in something like mayonaise also with shredded vegetable The previous week in another good restaurant I had a whole crab for the same. The main course os a Barsley chop was generous but the addition of two anchovy fillets seemed poinless. The pudding ( mango and coconut was delicious. One of the real attractions of the restaurant has been the wine list. This seems to have diminished and the set wine suggestions a real mistake. Please go back to how it was.

Big, rather noisy dining room. Great for couples as wine list has a decent number of well priced half bottles.

While some of the food tasted nice much of it wasn't cooked well. Hard raw cubes of potato in the green pea and squid risotto. Side dish of potatoes heavily oversalted, almost inedible. Should've sent back. Very plain - no butter, parsley or mint. Bones in my fillet of halibut. Rabbit pate not seasoned. Tiny dessert with squirts of stuff too small to taste. Not good value for a lot of money.

Lovely surroundings - excellent wine list - service a bit patchy - a shame in what was otherwise a delightful lunch.

My husband and I had an excellent anniversary lunch at the Whistler restaurant. The food was perfect for a light lunch although the menu included heavier items. The sommelier selection of white wine was delicious.
