   We go to Limoncello every year when we visit Cancun to celebrate our son's birthday, because he loves Limoncello. We had very good experience so far except this year. Service was very poor this year. We were told that the 'home-made' bread was coming, but never came until we asked for it. We ordered 3 deserts, but got 2, the waiter said he forgot. In the past, they brought a piece of cake and sang the happy birthday song- not this year, even after we told them about his birthday. May be it was just the waiter. We plan to go there next year and see what happens.

   To be honest, this is one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever eaten in. Unless something drastic has changed recently, I believe most of these reviews must be called into question. It has a nice location on the lagoon but there is quite a foul odour in the air (perhaps not the restaurant’s fault). We were told we couldn’t move our reservation to a later time but when we arrived, it was quite empty and remained so. The fried calamari was decent but the rest of the food was simply terrible. The ravioli were soggy and tasteless, the pasta sauce was worse than from a can. The breaded pork chop was rubbery. Strange spices were on the food (definitely NOT Italian). Words can’t describe how bad the food was and I won’t even tell you the cost! But we did see a crocodile in the water! Most of the other restaurants in the hotel zone are actually quite good. Simply put … stay away from this “Italian” restaurant.

   Never disappointed here. Excellent service, beautiful setting--Christmas decorations were on point! Food is outstanding, great wine list and desserts!
