Honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had in awhile. I had a reservation @8:45 on a Thursday night I was late by 10 minutes but they still at us immediately. The service was outstanding! I haven’t had such great attendance in at a restaurant in a very long time. The server Victoria was supper friendly and helpful in making recommendations and everything we had was SO GOOD!! I go eat sushi quite a bit and this was perfect. The sushi was fresh and the combinations the chefs created were very flavorful. A 10/10 hands down. Thank you🙏🏼🙏🏼

The food quality could use some improvement. It’s less fine dining sushi and more casual eatery sushi if that makes sense. The service was great. They accommodated our large party of preteen girls for a birthday very well. Highly recommended for families and casual sushi eaters. Less recommended for fancy pants sushi eaters. (That’s me🤷). Price is good and selection is good. Especially for Poway.

Founded in 2013 by Davin and Jessica Waite, Wrench & Rodent is a space for culinary exploration and collaboration. This cozy, eclectic restaurant quickly became a destination for those who appreciated Chef Davin’s creative approach to celebrating local and responsibly sourced fish and produce.

In addition to a set sushi menu, Wrench offers an omakase as well as a list of specials that change daily. The team is committed to reducing waste and enhancing flavor by elevating all cuts of fish and veggies, as well as featuring a diverse range of species. Many menu items are simple, fresh and creative, with a lesser-known fish species complimented by ingredients from the backyard garden. Byproduct utilization drives the menu as well, and recent explorations with aging techniques have led to a dry aged fish program. Delicious food. Service was good, although we had to wait outside for at least 5 mins. and that was with a reservation. The restrooms could have used a little attention and the music was very loud. I’m glad I tried it, but not sure if I would return.

Where we invite you to journey into a place of both intimacy and companionship
Our concept is drawn from our name. The word “cloak” implies secrecy, inspiring our concept of a social sphere humming beneath the levels of ordinary life. “Petal” alludes to the Japanese tradition of “hanami,” when family and friends gather under blooming cherry blossoms to savor food, drinks and fellowship.
Enter our space and travel underground to décor reminiscent of an abandoned Tokyo subway, a stratum of society all its own, an artist’s dream. Cross the threshold into a mystically transformed Japanese social dining lounge which appears to be an outdoor seating area, similar to a waiting platform. They are very good at filling waters. I would finish my water and more would magically appear. 10/10 would go again for water experience.
