Velvet 48 is a premium wine bar in downtown Burlingame started by 20-year wine industry veteran, Jason Cooper. We offer over 40 wines by the glass, 1100 wines by the bottle, a cultivated beer selection, and a variety of delicious savory and sweet small plates.

We have wines across every price point so there is something for everyone, from the casual wine drinker to the wine aficionado, who will be impressed by a wine collection that houses some of the finest wines in the world. We aim to cultivate an experience for our guests that starts with a complimentary splash of our house label, Velvet 48 Sparkling wine, followed by outstanding service from our Wine Specialists to guide you through our expansive list. We offer a discount of 25% off bottles purchased TO GO.

One of our favorite spots in Burlingame. The flights change frequently and are always innovated. The staff is fantastic- all are friendly and knowledgeable. We only have have small plates and everything we’ve eaten has been great. We can’t recommend Velvet 48 enough!

Had such a wonderful anniversary dinner here. Such delicious variety of dishes in the petite omakase and service was top notch. The trout and bluefin were standouts. Will have to come back for full omakase

It was a beautiful dinner experience. We went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The service was the absolute best, seated us on time! Food is delicious and it is simply hard to pick a favorite. The cocktails are so creative. The ambience is wonderful and gives a festive feel! For sure going again! We returned to HED11 for the new menu, and we agreed that it’s one of the best they’ve ever created. I’m not very familiar with Thai Northeastern cuisine, except for papaya salad, but everything was incredible. The table-side preparation for the papaya salad was really creative, and the final dessert was stunning and creative as they crafted a dessert that looked exactly like the artwork, which made the night even more fun and exciting. Last menu they served 6 main dishes at once, which felt a bit overwhelming but this time they separated the main courses into three smaller courses served with rice, which felt much more balanced. I highly recommend trying this new menu, it’s outstanding! Thank you for making our birthday celebration extra special with the thoughtful gifts
