Fitzrovia
About the restaurant
64 Goodge Street is a new restaurant from Woodhead Restaurant Group, which opened in early August 2023. A former travel agent in our beloved Fitzrovia (64’s older siblings Portland and Clipstone are just round the corner), we were hugely excited by the opportunity this blank slate of a site afforded us.

We’ve been able to build from the bottom up, and therefore design every inch of space to meet our hope for 64 Goodge Street. Namely, that it is a space in which guests feel utterly taken care of.

We are open Monday to Saturday for lunch and dinner. We very much hope to see you soon.

I cannot fault Gauthier. The food was truly exceptional and gets better every time we visit. The staff were very friendly. I value everything that Alexis Gauthier and Gauthier stands for - animal welfare and respect comes first - an extremely innovative and constantly evolving menu which delivers every time, without the need for cruelty to animals. A delicious tasting experience which always leaves me wanting more!

Fabulous experience overall, with a great veggie menu. I would just note that I don’t always want a full tasting menu, even the shorter 5 courses is a LOT of food! And the price point puts it firmly in the ‘occasional treat’ bracket.

About the restaurant
L'Escargot is London's oldest and most celebrated French restaurant serving classic French provincial dishes. It also has a great cocktail bar with reasonably priced cocktails and all day dining. Upstairs in the cocktail Bar there are live music acts every weekend.

The restaurant has welcomed luminaries such as Coco Chanel, Charles de Gaulle, Maurice Chevalier, Laurence Olivier, Lucien Freud and Francis Bacon. Princess Diana was a regular and to this day the restaurant is the home of many celebrated personalities.

It is located close to all the major West-End theatres, which makes it an excellent pre and post theatre dining spot.
