Serving contemporary French food, this much-loved independent restaurant has been going strong for over 22 years.
Before booking, please note the restaurant has both downstairs and upstairs.
The same menu options are available on both floors. There is no lift upstairs.
Re Tasting Menu Timings: At lunch you must book before 1.45pm, and at dinner before 8.45pm. Tasting menus are not available outside of these times.
If you cannot find a table, please contact the restaurant team direct as not all tables are available to book online. Please contact the restaurant with any private dining enquiries or group bookings 7+
Credit card details required. No shows or cancellations less than 2 days in advance will be subject to a charge of £25 per person.

Always nice to visit, food is good and the staff improving. Definitely value for money and parking not an issue.

Utter Waffle - a gem within the South London brunch scene! We opened our Herne Hill restaurant in 2021, and since have become an institution in Herne Hill's small but awesome food scene. Since our launch, we've collected a small cabinet of trophies and awards, and have even cooked our savoury waffles on Masterchef, Sunday Brunch & Saturday Kitchen!
Our busy brunch restaurant serves everything from fried chicken & waffles and our signature avo smash, to bottomless brunch & craft beers. For those with a sweet tooth - fret not as the desserts are pretty good too - (we're even the proud winners of The Best Dessert in the UK (British Street Food Awards)), so there really is something for everyone!
We pride ourselves on a super-inclusive menu and ability to cater for those with dietary requirements; We're co-owned by a coeliac, don't handle any gluten on-site, plus we boast loads of vegetarian and vegan options too! So what are you waiting for!?

Crispin is an all day restaurant & wine bar in Spitalfields serving seasonal sharing plates, low intervention wines & cocktails.

Our chefs are led by the talented Lewis de Haas (ex Petersham Nurseries & The Shed). They deliver a European inspired menu, using locally & sustainably sourced ingredients from independent growers, small-scale farms & producers (think seasonal croquettes, organic British vegetables, sustainable seafood, classic cuts). We also have a natural wine list, bottle shop & wine club curated by our Head of Wine Alexandra Price, where we focus on natural wines using indigenous & rare grape varieties.

The glass & zinc pavilion is located on White’s Row, Spitalfields, on the junction with Crispin Street. We have seating for 40 inside in view of our open-kitchen & 20 on our garden terrace.

I love really well cooked, tasty food, without pretentious presentation. This lovely little place was a great choice for pre-theatre food. I had one course with a side. It was absolutely delicious. The fish, sole, was perfectly cooked , served with a delicious combination of samphire, fennel, chilli and cucumber. Great balance of crispness and flavour. I don't know where to start with the potatoes, described as fried. They were new, in their skins, slightly squashed, with the most gorgeous garlic, butter and herbs. It was the first time I had eaten on my own. My daughter wasn't well. The service and the relaxed atmosphere was brilliant.
