About the restaurant

Under the guidance of his Italian-native mother, and heavily influenced by his travels throughout Italy, Jake Imperiale opened Bella Napoli in 2001 to meet Kansas City's need for authentic Italian food, wine and market goods. Jake hand selects each product for Bella's deli and market and every item is imported from Italy. Wander across the room and you'll be immersed in an atmosphere as authentically Italian as it gets. An integral element of Bella Napoli, the pizzeria offers a variety of traditional Italian dishes.

At Bella Napoli, the ambiance of a true Italian ristorante, classic Italian recipes, warm friendly service and a renowned wine list culminate in an Italian dining experience you're sure to fall in love with.

Delicious dining experience. The eggplant parm was the best. Great reasonably priced wine. Exceptional service. Love this restaurant !

Lidia's features authentic, regional Italian cuisine. Every item at the restaurant is house-made entirely from scratch with the best ingredients available. Breads and desserts are baked in-house daily and each salad and entree is prepared fresh.

Every day Lidia's offers a sampling of seasonal, daily-made pastas. We also feature many seafood, chicken, pork, and beef options. We are happy to accommodate your dietary needs including gluten-free items.

Lidia's is located in the historic Freighthouse-- a beautiful 19th century building. The stunning decor includes three hand-blown chandeliers, a three-story slate fireplace, and cozy, New York style seating.

With an emphasis on the guest experience and hospitality, any evening you spend at Plate is sure to be special. Christian was mentored by Restaurateur Valter Nassi from Monte San Savino, Italy. Christian's grandfather Constantino Lucido immigrated from Frosinone, Italy to New York in 1948. Christian is passionate about Italian culture, food, and wine. His passion shines through in providing a dining experience unlike any other in the area.

Ate at Plate on Thursday night. They had a pianist and singer doing jazz and Christmas carols. It created a great ambiance. Our food was excellent. We did the 4 course prix fixe for 2. Our server, Ashley, was very attentive. Overall a great night out!

My second lunch at Plate Italiano Moderno - Leawood. I was even more impressed this time. I ordered a pasta dish the first time and this visit the mushroom pizza was calling my name. It was delicious! To visit any restaurant during the holiday season I expect the noise level to be unbearable. I was pleasantly surprised that despite the number of large groups surrounding our two-top, we were able to converse fairly well.

Our cocktails were delicious. The wedge and beet salads were excellent… the best in town. Our steaks were grilled to perfection, tender and delicious. The staff was exceptional and quick to attend to every need without being a distraction. The music selections were also very good, and the ambiance was great.
