Service poor and likely due to lack of training and it was a busy evening. I can live with all of this, but I don't enjoy having the tip determined for me when presented with the bill for goods and services. It was listed as a "surcharge" of 22.00%. Of course I asked if this is also what is commonly known to be the gratuity, and the server acknowledged, yes. While the server presented me the mobile signature pad for credit card payment the first screen was prompting me to tip further! Sure, I could have rejected the "automatic gratuity/surcharge, but I'm not inclined to place front line staff on the spot in a hectic environment. But, I'm certainly not shy and I feel this is a poor reflection on ownership and acceptable management standards for how to treat patrons. I will not return

Typically, outstanding experiences. Unfortunately, the potions for the amount charged were too small. Courses took a while to arrive at the table. Will continue to visit, but likely won’t be doing exclusive course meals again.

Terrible Valentine’s Day experience. Sasa used to be a high quality restaurant. It has turned into a wannabe night club with poor service, lower quality food, and way over priced experience. And they charged a 22% tip on top of it all without any ability to adjust - further promoting their poor service because there is no incentive to change. I have been coming here for years but I will never be back.

Overall 4-5 stars, our server was a bit overwhelmed, which initially resulted in spotty service initially. Thus the 3 stars for service

I have been to Sasa probably a dozen times and it has always been good. We went on Valentines day and it was comically bad. The music was so loud you could not hear the waiter. There was a special menu for the night (only option). As soon as you sat they started bringing it out. Ordered a cocktail... 1st was miso soup -not bad 2 clams in it - within 5 minutes they brought out the 2nd - a pickled plate. inquired about the cocktail... 3 slices of radishes, tablespoon of pickled cabbage, 2 olives in mustard, 3 slices of pickled daikon or something. This was one dish for both of us (3 pcs for 2 people?). ...inquired about the cocktail, then the raw section...3 items listed but you could only pick one...had the tuna flight...3 pieces of tuna about the size of a fingernail. asked about the cocktail again.... within 20 minutes of sitting down the first 3 courses were out. then the waiter comes over to deliver the dessert...We told him we had not had the entree yet...he did not believe us and wanted to serve us dessert. Inquired about the cocktail again...got our entrees..a steak very tough from being overcooked...had to choke down the dry salmon from being overcooked both entrees seemed to be pre-cooked waiting for their victim...and that cocktail? Dessert..a previously frozen petit four.. hard and dry. Finally got the cocktail. Went to use the ladies room and both toilets were not working. Dinner was $98 pp. they charged 22% service charge (and had to pay tax on service charge) but do not tell you. $18 for an old fashioned cocktail. total bill was $285 - total rip off. They were done serving and shuttling you out the door in about an hour. Table next to us turned 3 times in the hour or so we were there. Come on Sasa - you can do better. So disappointing.

We wer assigned to sit at the lounge. That is Not suitable for dinner. It’s normally an area you sit in while waiting for your table. We opted to stay at the bar. The bar tender was super nice. If it wasn’t for that guy I would’ve left the place. The sashimi was super tiny. It’s 1/3 the size of a normal serving in a normal place. The wagyu steak was cold, served medium the first time while I requested for med rare, it was rubbery. The bar tender noticed my facial expression, looked at my steak and got a replacement for me. The second one I received was exactly the same even colder. I stopped eating. I offered it to my husband who was so hungry and didn’t have the energy to complain once again. The bar tender offered to give me a free drink but I declined. We just wanna leave. We’re not the type of people who will make a scene and or demand not to pay for an awful meal so we paid almost $300. So painful! A friend of mine called and asked about my experience and I said to her NO! She had a reservation with her family tomorrow. I told her to cancel. We drove straight home knowing no other restaurant would take us because it’s Vday. Got home made a quick dinner for myself. Saddest Valentine dinner at Sasa. Never again.

Sasa always provides us with a great experience. We’d come more often if it were a bit less expensive. The Otoro tuna, one of my favorites, was $27 for 5 teeny, weeny pieces of sashimi. That was a real disappointment. The kaarage chicken was dry and almost inedible. Other than that everything was delicious!
