Bugsy Siegel’s lust for extravagance set the scene for modern-day Las Vegas. Paying homage to Siegel and his inner circle of original mobsters, El Cortez Hotel & Casino presents food with attitude at the morning, noon and night dining concept, Siegel’s 1941.     Weird decor,...service horrible. My feeling is Siegel would roll over in his grave if he knew his name was being used at this restaurant. Staff was arguing with each other,...one couple walked out after being seated. We got food and had to go track down servers to get silverware to eat it with.

    The food is really good. On Christmas Day they had a special menu. However, they ran out of soup and pumpkin pie by the time I got there. Otherwise excellent.

    Service was excellent. Food not so much. We did get a generous portion of both dark and light turkey. There was no bread with the meal. The dressing tasted ok, but the texture was awful. Supposedly there was to be giblet gravy. No giblets and gravy was probably out of a can. Green beans were not thoroughly cooked and were cold. Pumpkin pie was very nice, but the pecan pie....lets just say it wasn't like momma used to make.

    Siegels is normally a really good spot especially for their prime rib special. We come to downtown specifically to eat here. They didn’t have any potatoes other than French fries which was disappointing because their baked potatoes are good and the waiter couldn’t be bothered when asked for help. Still a place I’d recommend, last night was just a weird experience.

    3 course thanksgiving dinner was subpar. The spinach salad was the star of the meal. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans were barely luke warm. Apple pie and ice cream were mediocre.

    Love this spot for any meal or even just dessert. Grown up atmosphere dining is rare and we make a point to eat here every time we’re in Vegas. Always great food, service etc.
