Located in Shadyside, Soba draws guests in with plush comfort and gentle mystery, featuring a cascading water wall, glass staircase, and hand-painted murals. The spacious lounge and multiple dining nooks allow visitors to meet for drinks, share appetizers with friends, or enjoy a modern dining experience.

Soba cooks from the heart and features an array of small plates and entrees intended for sampling and sharing. The cuisine draws inspiration from China, Japan, South Korea and Thailand, though it also incorporates elements from other Southeast and South Asian cultures. Soba offers a seasonal cocktail list with both classic and contemporary offerings.

                                                                        Festive New Year's Eve crowd with special very tasty menu. Energetic and loud individuals at adjoining tables made this less enjoyable for me but my wife didn't seem to mind. The food was tender, tasty, and gourmet. Excellent.

This decline seems to be consistent throughout the Big Burrito brand. Unfortunately, for an iconic Pittsburgh area group, this continues to be a huge disappointment.

                                                                        Keeping this very short and sweet because my energy is better met somewhere else. I was treated like an inconvenience after making a reservation for a table for one. Extremely disheartening and the finer details of unprofessional from front of house are better left in 2024. For what it’s worth, the meal was delicious and the waitress was sweet.

                                                                        Great restaurant, lighting and ambiance were perfect. Food was delicious however we waited over over 45 minutes for just the appetizers. Very slow service, could be due to holidays, however worth the wait.

We had two apps, three different entrees and 2 desserts and each was packed with flavor and beautifully plated. I recommend the rare tuna entree, the mushrooms on the appetizers - and the chocolate maki.

However, the seasoning on the dishes felt off—some flavors were too strong or didn’t quite work together. The accoutrements on the plates looked impressive but seemed added more for appearance than flavor, and they ended up distracting from the meals. With a bit more balance, the food could match the quality of everything else.

                                                                        Food and service here are the most tasty and consistent we have found in the area. Dahlia was our server this evening and she was great. It’s a one a month visit at this point.
