Parallel parking can be found all along on 4th, 4 1/2, and 5th street. There is also a large parking lot between Spring & 5th street behind the BP gas station. All are within walking distance of Spring House.

    My fiancée and I went here the day after Valentine’s Day. It was as if they brought in the amateurs to host/serve. The hostess asked me 3 different times my name and reservation, don’t know if there was some confusion or someone who didn’t know how to work the tablet. Our server as friendly enough and came over quickly, introduced himself and took our orders promptly. Then it went downhill. Our appetizer (which we were charged for) never came, then my fiancée ordered a second drink to have with dinner which took 30 minutes to be served to her way after dinner was finished. Then took another 15 min to pack our to-go dessert. There was no issue with the food throughout the night but it was as if the restaurant decided to give the normal staff the night off the day after Valentines Day and put in their second stringers. Very disappointed in quality of service.

    Chose to have our 32nd Anniversary dinner at Spring House, as we knew they would not disappoint us! Fabulous food -- great daily specials that added to the already wonderful menu -- and we got to bring our 15yr old wine from home with no corkage fee, which was superb. The inventive cocktail specials were very tempting, and we watched others in our room get some beautiful drinks. Our food -- from the calamari with fabulous garlic sauce, couscous "meatballs", and lobster bisque to the veal scalloppini and steak so tender you could cut it with a fork -- was over the top. And because we had told them it was our wedding anniversary, we were treated to an apple waffle with fabulous syrup and sauce for dessert. Just a wonderful atmosphere, attentive staff, and great food -- who could ask for anything more?!?!?

    Neil was an attentive and knowledgeable server. The combination of tastes on each plate was a party-in-the-mouth kind of feeling. This shows imagination, expertise, and skillful cooking. The noise level was minimal, so easy conversation followed. The promptness of the order was also admirable. Nice wine list . Cocktail list seemed to be another exploration creative blending. Overal a very nice experience.

    All was good salmon with shrimp and chicken waffles. The only problem was the server put the leftover salmon in the same container with the breads. On arrival home (an hour) the breads were a bit soggy and all tasted of salmon and the shrimp had disappeared. We will prob return.

    This is a very quaint restaurant. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is good my only complaint is the menu is limited.

    Hostess was extremely nice- offered to take our picture together for our date night. I had salmon and shrimp and mine was delicious. My wife had the filet and ordered medium and it was overcooked (no pink) and bland. Came with a tiny half dollar size portion of mashed potatoes and one small stalk of broccoli (come on how much do potatoes and broccoli cost!?!?) The prices are extremely arbitrary- bread service $10.99 (Rolls For 2 people?!?) Dessert coffee service and biscottis for 2 - $44- WHAT?!? French onion soup $19 - ouch! At the same time entrees were not horribly priced- strange.

    Our service was great. Let’s start with a positive. But that was pretty much all of the good. We ordered the eggplant and oyster appetizer. The eggplant was supposed to have an egg on it. It was did not. It was also nearly impossible to identify any eggplant. It was mostly overcooked tofu and three large potatoe chunks. The baked oysters lacked any flavor and were way over cooked. I should have known better than to order baked oysters… but I tried them anyway. Next we ordered the surf and turf chefs special. A 6 oz filet with 2 10U scallops, mixed veggies and a red wine Demi glacé. We ordered the steak rare. It came out medium and was hands down the worst steak I’ve had in a restaurant. There was no seasoning on it at all. Not even a little salt and pepper. Our server offered to have it remade, but at this point I was so disappointed with the rest of the food, I figured it wasn’t worth it. Our scallops were also not 10U. They were much smaller. Though they were cooked well. And the Demi Glacé… well that seemed more like pan drippings than a sauce anyone knew how to cook. As far as veggies, we had 2 pieces of broccoli, 2 grape tomatoes, and 2 squash slices, also with out any seasoning. Not even some butter. All for the price of $77. (Just the special) Having been in the restaurant business for over 30 years, in all aspects, I give credit to our excellent server. He did his job to ask questions and be attentive. But the food was horrible. The manager never came to ask about the poorly cooked “chefs special.” This is our third time dining with Spring House, each time hoping for a better than mediocre experience. This time the food was just awful. Needless to say. We will not return.
