   I have gone here for many years. It really is not as good as it used to be years ago. I keep going giving it the benefit of the doubt every time because I love this place and its location with the view. But the food is just not very good. Last time I went in October the prime rib was adequate but not good and the creme brulee was not quite set. But I still decided to go there for Thanksgiving this year as I have gone in the past on this occasion. They were out of things in my salad and did not inform me just sat a salad in front of me to eat I guess hoping I would not notice or care but I did notice and I did care. My shrimp were over cooked and my steak was kind of a mushy consistency. But I said nothing about the steak and shrimp. Then I ordered desert. Of course I ordered creme brulee (because it is a staple there and one of the main reasons I come there) and they were out. I definitely let her know then that I was unhappy. She made excuses of how busy they were that day. I was not compensated in anyway, It was like we are running out so deal with it. I have decided I will not be going back again. It is just not worth it

   We decided to try Stanley & Seafort’s Thanksgiving dinner and despite the massive amount of people continually coming in the staff handled it in stride. The friendly smiles, positive attitudes despite the chaos around them was truly remarkable. Our waiter Doug was outstanding always ensuring our drinks were full and if we needed anything. Our only issue would be the prime rib and beef tenderloin a few of us ordered was more blue rare than medium rare, requiring us to send it back for additional cooking. The pork chop and crab stuffed mahi-mahi were perfectly cooked and full of flavor.

   Went for Thanksgiving dinner, 11-28-24. Service was great and very hospitable. Our waiter, Corey was excellent Understand that the night was very busy but took longer than it should have to receive food and it was only like warm. They could have done better. Willing to give them another try but just wouldn’t book a holiday sitting.

   Went for the 3 course Thanksgiving dinner. Food was great and their creme brulee was magnificent! Great service and friendly staff! Glad I found this place!

   For our 10 year Anniversary this was a wonderful experience service from start to end from greeting us to sending us off spectacular views of Tacoma, Wa the food was mouth melting thank you again.

   Normally I really enjoy SS but we were seated at a table that had loud people which isn’t really the restaurant’s fault. But they were out of bread and the portions looked so much different from our time before. The old fashion had so much ice in it that it watered down the drink. The only positive was the waitress was attentive and nice.

   Our experience was fabulous. From the greeting by the hostesses to the comfortable seating, outstanding service, and DELICIOUS food. I cannot think of a single thing I would have wanted to be different. Parking is plentiful and the view is awesome. Our server was great - attentive, but not hovering. My steak was probably the best I’ve ever had - cooked perfectly.

   An exceptional venue sets the stage for what should easily be a memorable dining experience. Floor to ceiling windows and a spectacular aerial view of Tacoma create an instantaneous “wow factor” at almost every table. This restaurant’s ambiance charms all who enter. Unfortunately the restaurant was not able to live up to the moment and our experience left us underwhelmed and wanting more. Even the best efforts of our server left her unable to overcome the restaurant’s bigger issues… We were celebrating a recent engagement and started with a bottle of bubbly. Our server quickly whisked away the place-setting wine glasses with a promise of champagne flutes only to return moments later with a “we are out flutes” and “hopefully you don’t mind using wine glasses instead”. Not much later on we had to request water for the table, which at a dining location like this should be automatic, only to find out they are out of glasses too and had to settle for wine glasses for water as well. The menu options appeared promising. The bread service and salads were solid, leading to a nice intro to the mains. When our main dishes arrived, 2 of our diners had ordered the same dish yet ended up with differing plates in front of them. The staff member delivering meals could not answer why and fetched our server. Our server was also not made aware that the kitchen ran out of a dish and made a substitution on their own without checking with us. The server was also frustrated with this and offered a desert on the house. Finally my filet mignon was lukewarm warm with sides that were mediocre quality at best. At this point it seemed the best course was to eat and get on our way as soon as we could. In the end the miscues all added up to our regret having chosen this place for a special moment. It was not worth the $500 we spent. It could have been an off night, but for these types of rare special moments we will choose other options in the future…

    Highly recommend for a special dinner, but make a reservation especially Fri/Sat nights. Food was delicious, service was wonderful, and the view was amazing.
