Stockdales of Yorkshire modern British steak restaurant & cocktail bar launched in Leeds September 2015. Stockdales brings together a deep understanding of agriculture and food service to deliver a truly memorable culinary experience – the way steak should be done, done exceptionally well.

When we serve a steak, it’s not just about the pleasure of eating, but the culmination of the perfect Yorkshire process; the welfare of the animal, the care of the farmer, the diligence of the preparation, and, of course, the skill of the chef.

We believe passionately in animal welfare and full traceability, so we source all our produce locally – from farmers we know personally. Our Wagyu Beef is always hand selected, aged for up to 28 days, precision trimmed and cooked with care over our Josper Grill.

Our kitchen team is led by head chef, Jonathan Davies. Jonathan is trained to a Michelin star standard and has worked in some of Europe’s finest restaurants.

Our party of six were impressed with the quality of the food, especially the steaks which were tasty and tender. The staff were attentive without being overpowering and we felt well looked after.

To hear the words "this is the best steak I've ever had" uttered from my wife's mouth is one of the largest compliments you will ever hear

Stockdales has very comfortable interior with the right level of noise to be able to enjoy a conversation. The waiting staff were the right level of attentive with a great knowledge of the menu. There was a wine to suit every taste and budget. The duck egg starter was very decadent and a great portion size. We would definitely visit again.

It was a birthday meal which everyone enjoyed. The steak was really good but our party weren’t keen on the smoked taste. Service was excellent and the birthday treats were a lovely surprise.

Noisy and poor quality food. The restaurant obviously hasn’t been looked after since it first opened, dirty tables and chairs and really dusty. The place is just horrifically noisy, it’s gone from a quite high class steak restaurant to what is akin to a Toby Carvery for new-money chavs. Kids screaming and running about whilst the parents don’t give a toss. Gutted it’s gone downhill so much really as it used to be really nice.

Absolutely fantastic, we have been a few times now and it never disappoints. Would highly recommend to everyone. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food is amazing. Thank you for making our Anniversary special
