A progressive perspective of classic Southern favorites. James Beard Award nominee Edward Lee brings his Korean roots and Southern repertoire to a soulful Southern menu.

SUCCOTASH is named after the classic dish that has been a longstanding staple of the Southern table. While many know “Succotash” when they see it, the dish has been interpreted, modified and passed from generation to generation for centuries. While Succotash between families will share similarities, each family’s recipe is deeply personal and reminiscent of those special suppers that brings kin together. Our “Succotash” is special to us and we invite you to experience the South from our point of view.

The food and service at Succotash were excellent. The waitstaff went above and beyond to accommodate a guest with special needs. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Also, despite the restaurant being very full and busy, the acoustics were unusually great! You can actually hear conversation and not have to scream over loud music and other people. 5 stars. We will be back!

Service was awful. It took forever for the waitress to come to us after we were seated. She barely came to check on us. The waitress was just awful. Food was good.

It took 35 minutes for appetizers to be served at lunch. That is more than ridiculous give it was a business lunch and we ordered deviled eggs— one of their go to items.

My husband and I enjoyed our meals very much. I never order chicken and waffles, but last night I gave it a try. Despite the heavy breading, the dish was delicious. My husband loved the pork spareribs. He thought the collared greens were very good .I can tell you that the cornbread was outstanding. We will definitely go back again.

My experience wasn’t the best. Restaurant was overbooked. Service was extremely slow as the server given was literally taking tables all over the restaurant and seemed more focused on being social than providing quality service. Only ordered a glass of wine that tasted spoiled and the crab dip which had an off putting smell and texture due to the kimchi addition. This is my 2nd failed attempt to dine at this restaurant so I’m over it at this point. It’s also very dark in this establishment so bring a flashlight if you don’t see well in dim lighting.

We tried the Taste of the South. It was more than enough for 3 people. It had every dish we wanted to try, and we were willing to add additional dishes to try as well, but there’s plenty of food. It was well worth the price ($45 per adult) and when combined with the InKind app savings it was even more affordable. We saved money, earned cash back and made new reservations the same day.

First time at Succotash @ National Harbor and we had a very nice meal. The ambiance was a little dark for me but with that aside, I really enjoyed the food. I had the Crab Cake Benedict and it was awesome. The flavors were all there and the warm potato salad was fire!!! I finished my meal with their Banana Pudding and it was heaven. The service from the minute we checked in and checked out was on point. I will definitely be back. Thank you for a really great brunch!

Run, do not walk, to Succotash! I was not expecting much, as I am a Northerner, and greens and grits are out of my wheelhouse. But everything at Succotash was eye-rolling, out-of-this-world delicious. We got the Taste of the South, which is shareable plates of most of everything on the menu. Our server, Xavier, assured us there would be plenty of food, and he was not kidding. We started with kimchi deviled eggs and fried green tomato salad with goat cheese. Then smoked chicken wings and an incredible hot sweet cornbread. The mains included local crispy catfish, BBQ pork ribs, chicken and waffles (amazingly crunchy crust and meltingly tender chicken!), collard greens with country ham, awesome mac'n' cheese. Xavier was magical, whisking away empty plates and bringing new ones. THEN mini pecan pies, and hummingbird cake truffles. We had to get a take-home box. Wow, wow, wow! Kudos to the chef and the kitchen staff. Everything was hot and beautifully plated. The only things we didn't get were grits and.. succotash!
