Since our early days as a tea room, we’ve been a respite for locals and visitors alike, offering a haven for conversation and memorable cuisine. The tradition continues as our culinary team has curated an inventive and elevated menu through New American cuisine while paying homage to the beloved dishes that have been served at the Tabard Inn for years.

Executive Chef Matthew Zafrir came to the Tabard in 2023, bringing with him experience from various fine dining restaurants around D.C. such as minibar by José Andrés, Cranes, Revelers Hour, as well as Woodberry Kitchen in Baltimore, MD. He also shares the Tabard's longstanding commitment to sourcing ingredients locally.

Join us for a meal on our covered patio or one of our intimate dining rooms. Or enjoy drinks and light fare in our historic fireplace lounge, where you can enjoy our creative cocktails! A DC institution since 1922, we look forward to offering our guests all the comforts of a home away from home.

I was expecting a top-notch dining experience considering that it was a prix fixe menu priced at $92 - and with a drink, well over $100 per person. The food was disappointing with many of the dishes served barely warm. I left disappointed at best.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner at the Tabbard Inn. A variety of courses to choose from on the price fixed menu and plenty to satisfy our appetites.

What a disappointment! Thanksgiving Day! This restaurant and inn is so adorable. I love the architecture and decor. BUT, the food was absolutely terrible. I came for a Turkey dinner for $92 per person, and it was like a Swanson frozen food tv dinner. The turkey was dry and tasteless. The gravy was probably from a can. The sides were also tasteless and poorly made. I swear that the mashed potatoes came from a box. So, so disappointing. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I will not be returning - ever.

Charming atmosphere. I've been wanting to go for a number of years. Unfortunately the Thanksgiving meal proved to be substantially over priced. Interesting flavors that hit or really missed. Cold soup, raw prime rib, not rare, raw and other strange food misses. Wine came after meal was started. Saw waiter twice I believe and for a rushed second. Very disappointing and expensive for what the experience turned out to be.

It's been many years since I've been to the Tabard Inn, so long ago that I was living in Dupont on Riggs Place. It was low key and funky and much smaller. The present version is very different but equally enjoyable. Larger, still good food, but more space and fewer distractions. A great place to meet for breakfast and escape from the bustling of one of Washington's friendliest circles.

Wonderful cuisine - not the old Tabard Inn restaurant! Always innovative cuisine and beautifully served. Highly professional servers. A pleasure to be in the setting too, especially the covered patio.
