Located in the original Butchart family residence, you can experience spectacular views of the Private Garden, the Italian Garden and Tod Inlet. Indulge in Afternoon Tea in our Spring and Summer seasons, or our High Tea which offers more warm savories from October through the winter months. Dinner is served seasonally with a strong presence of local sustainable ingredients. Choose from our award winning showcase of Vancouver Island wines. Enjoy adding to your awareness and appreciation of local grapes and vintners. Please note that admission to The Butchart Gardens is required in order to access The Dining Room Restaurant. We had a beautiful window table overlooking the Italian garden where the daffodils were blooming and pink flowering plum or cherry trees in the background. High tea in the Butchart house is a decadent, elegant experience. IMO no one does tea better. The food was good and I highly recommend the bachelor button tea. It's special. This experience is worth every penny.

It was a rainy afternoon. The gardens were just lovely, though. (Not sure if it was because of or in spite of the overcast skies!) We were, however, soaked when we arrived. Our coats were quickly hung up next to the fireplace and we were ushered into the Atrium. Something about the light in the Atrium makes every day beautiful! Shane helped us decide between tea selections. (I had the Teaberry and my Mom, the Lemongrass Ginger.) Tea was unhurried (great service from Shane!), yummy (beautiful presentation of PNW offerings -- delectable!) and delightful. Couldn't have asked for a better afternoon! Mom's favorite tea sandwich and tea cake? The salmon croissant and the scone.

The staff was so kind and thoughtful. It felt really genuine. I enjoyed the music they played while we ate. We sat in the sun room & it was simply just perfect. I loved the whole experience and would definitely come again. They also made a little gesture towards my mom’s birthday which was so sweet. Thank you! (:

Absolutely delightful experience! Everything from the moment we walked in the door contributed to a special atmosphere, and the customer service was excellent. Would highly recommend to anyone wishing to have an authentic high tea.
