The Depot Restaurant - Seaview features casual fine dining offering a Chef's Table to watch owner Chef Michael Lalewicz perform his magic from a display kitchen. The covered heated deck adds outdoor seating. A northwest and international wine list offers 16 wines by the glass, five microbrews and a hard cider on-tap. This 132 year old train station from the peninsula's Clamshell Railroad feels like a French Bistro especially when seated at the 9 seat counter reminding one of the Orient Express. ordered a drink, no brandy...ordered another, no Seagram's. ordered the smoked salmon mac-n-cheese and it was so salty I could not eat more than 3 bites. other dish ordered was steak & was reported to be delicious. they asked if I wanted a box for my uneaten meal to which I said NO and no questions were asked as to why I did not eat it. Paid the tab and left, disappointed.

My wife had the Steak Killian and I had the Clams Bucatini. Both were prepared and presented to perfection. They make a nice dirty martini too, and the marion berry cobbler was excellent. It's a small space and popular with both locals and visitors, so best make a reservation.

The food was amazing ! Gourmet thanksgiving side dishes in the buffet and all hot . Main course options were all gourmet versions of the classics , sooo delicious. The service was spot on they kept everything flowing with no lines at the buffet. We have no complaints it was a great special thanksgiving treat . Thank you Depot 👏🏻👏🏻

We were served our food very promptly after ordering, and things we had asked to be divided between two of us were divided without charge. The food was perfect temperature, and extremely tasty. We were very happy with the freshness, taste, presentation of our food. Definitely will recommend to others, and return whenever we are in the area.

From the moment we walked in, the Depot was fabulous. We were immediately welcomed warmly and with awareness of details from our reservation. I’d noted that we were celebrating a birthday and that was mentioned immediately. Everyone was kind, friendly, and accommodating. The food was fabulous - fresh and delicious. We had the chicken Parmesan and the clams bucatini and both were above and beyond. The whole experience was worth the price and then some!

The Depot was excellent, start to finish. We were seated promptly, the service was perfect-professional, efficient and friendly. And the food-oh my. I had the halibut, a very generous portion cooked perfectly and my husband had pasta with clams and oysters, both delicious. We both had dessert-my chocolate mousse was wonderful but his blackberry pie ala mode was even better. We’re coming back in two days with friends-can’t wait!
