Hard to go wrong with a lovely fall day on the water at the charming inn at the village on the bay. Our waiter was outstanding, charming and efficient and the food was excellent. Probably one of the best meals I've had there. I would recommend brunch to anyone visiting the area. The menu was more extensive than I had expected and offered something for every taste. It was a delightful experience.

Ambience and location of Fireside has always been a draw for us. This time what stood out as truly exceptional was the service provided by Jonathan. He may possibly be the most personable and proficient food service professional we’ve experienced… anywhere. So well done and many thanks to Jonathan. He elevates this venue to a level far above expectations.

Our server, while pleasant, seemed as if she had a plane to catch and couldn’t wait to progress us through the stages of our meal, even though the restaurant wasn’t crowded, and it wasn’t late. The entrees were limited, and the food was not prepared well, (my ‘tenderloin’ was anything but), and my wife’s salmon was over cooked and bland. Also, all of the seafood dishes and salads had bacon in them, which does not work for my spouse, who has a pronounced meat allergy. The atmosphere and ambience of the Fireside are still impressive, it’s just too bad that the quality of food, and in our case service, did not live up to the cost.

Some food problems that evening. The lentils under the salmon were crunchy. The salmon was very good. The three scallops had grit and probably should heve been washed. The sauced quinoa under the scallops was very salty. Too much tarragon in the salad, but that is personal preference. Very nice surroundings with some historical photos and the wait staff was efficient and friendly.

They asked if this was a special occasion, it was my wife's birthday. Not a single mention of the birthday. Also I specifically asked for a fireplace table and they were unable to comply. Overall,we enjoy eating there but it would be nice if they honored requests.

Everything is special about dining at the Fireside- the view, the warm coziness, the locally sourced food, the attentive yet not hovering staff. Whether your there in tge summer and sitting on the wrap around porch gazing at the marina, or tucked into a table in front of the fireplace during a winter storm, it’s a treat to see what the chef is designing for you. We used to sail to the marina and immediately head to the Fireside to relax- now we drive up (and arrive dry) and enjoy it even more!

We had a wonderful experience starting with cocktails and select cheeses progressing later in the evening to a wonderful dinner and tremendous service with Taylor. Morning began with the attentive and kind service of Jonathon along with the over the top Eggs Benedict with fresh spinach and prosciutto and my husband’s buckwheat pancakes with whipped mascarpone and a blueberry compote. The Port Ludlow Resort has talent in both the kitchen and waitstaff. We will be back. Thank you

Johnathan's service was impeccable. Made us feel like we were family here. Highly recommend the food, wine list and save room for dessert! House made caramel. Need I say more?
