So we decided to go to Ojai for breakfast and I checked with the hotel that there was an a la carte option available for lunch , which they confirmed ! We arrive and it’s just a buffet at $75 a head! When my better half literally has a salmon bagel and coffee and I have a small serving that’s an expensive brunch ! Why on earth would the hotel say there is a La carte when it’s not ! Btw $75 for what’s on offer is way too expensive

The Oak at Ojai Valley Inn had exceptional service from the bar area to the dining. Cocktails were made well, the food was great. You pay, nothing is inexpensive. I would definitely recommend for a special occasion or a special date. Cesar salad 8.5/10 Filet 8/10 Mashed potatoes 9/10 Mac n cheese 9/10

At the level of dining for which anything the OVI provides, the bread you bring to the table needs to "upgraded." Dinner rolls??? Are you serious? The bread needs to be of higher quality. It should not be something you can find on the shelves at Ralph's. It could at least be something along the lines of the local bread made at Roti in Ojai. OK. I have said enough. BTW - I am not the only person who feels this way after talking to others about this experience. You may consider this minor. However, everyone I have spoken with agrees. The bread brought to the table at a high end restaurant needs to be high quality. PERIOD.

A perfect lunch spot when visiting Ojai. The walk to the restaurant thru the gorgeous grounds of the Ojai Valley Inn set the tone. The restaurant patio is heated and overlooks a beautiful view. There’s a large and varied lunch menu. Our server, aware that we were from out of town was engaging and gracious. I would highly recommend The Oak.

Food is good but service is very, very poor. Made a reservation well in advance and they didn't hold the table we'd asked for so we had to wait 30 minutes; not the end of the world and we had a good time at the bar. Service at the table, however, was sooo careless and slow, even after letting our server know we only had a few hours to spend at dinner. Several items (sugar for tea, more bread, etc) were forgotten, we had to ask to put in food, ask for a dessert menu, etc. Nothing was ever offered, dishes weren't cleared before each course came out, and we often couldn't find the server. I felt like I managed the dinner. The server just seemed checked out and unconcerned with providing any kind of decent experience for guests. He was pleasant when he spoke to us, and didn't seem to realize that his service was bad. It was disappointing, especially since it's such a pretty setting and the food is generally really good.

I’ve wanted to try the restaurants at this Inn for a while now and The Oak was lovely! The service was attentive, the cocktails were fresh and fun, the menu was well diversified, and most importantly to me, the filet was on par with my favorites I’ve had in the area. Thank you Taylor and staff for a great experience.

We had dinner there one night and lunch the next day. Both meals were fantastic! Staff were genuinely friendly and kind from start to finish, and the menus offered a great selection of items. The price point is a little steep, but we wouldn’t expect otherwise when dining on property at a resort. At least all the food was delicious and the portions were good. The view is beautiful during the day, and at night they’ve got heat lamps to make you comfortable.

The Ojai Valley Inn is always wonderful. The food and the service are both excellent-the restaurant never disappoints. The restaurant is outdoors and the weather was cool and drizzly-but we still very much enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere thanks to efficient heaters.

The food was very good but my wife is vegetarian and there were limited options. The restaurant was very open to modifying the dishes to meet her dietary choice.

More than anything you pay for the location and ambience. The food is just OK for the price. My friend and I split whipped goat cheese/beet salad and the BLT with avocado. The sandwich was on a soft, brioche type of bread that didn’t really stand up to the hardiness of the Bacon. The avocado was more like guacamole that squished out of a sandwich when you took a bite. The bacon was good, cooked well and thick. Not too salty. Our table shared the pixie tangerine meringue pie. Way too sweet overall and not enough pixie flavor.
