The Pelican Club is a contemporary New Orleans restaurant located on historic Exchange Place in the French Quarter. Since opening the doors to the renovated 19th century Creole townhouse in 1990, chef and owner, Richard Hughes has offered a diverse menu based in south Louisiana tradition with French, Italian, and Asian influences reflecting the rich culinary culture of the city.

    The Pelican Club did not disappoint. We had a delicious drink at the bar before being seated. The staff were wonderful and friendly. The food was delicious. Will be back for more.

    The good: Food and server. The bad: Ambushed by chick curtly urging us to hurry up and eat because they need the table. Time limits are their prerogative but they might consider informing you when you sit down, not when we're ordering more food. If we have 2 hours to eat, then use some common sense and tell us that when we sit down. Hostess on the way out strangely blamed the issue on Open Table.

    Ate at the bar, no reservation needed, faster service. Rudy provided great service . Get the shrimp bisque. Eat the coconut cream pie! If we go back I will get the shrimp bisque, a salad and the coconut cream pie! A perfect meal.

    My roast duck had delicious flavor but was overcooked. I had trouble cutting with the knife. Wife's fish was also overcooked. Service was excellent.

    There were 8 of us and the Revellion menu had something for us all. Not one of the group was dissatisfied with any part of the meal. Two meals of particular brilliance were the chopping and the roasted duck. The ciopino was all Louisiana in style and in flavor. The roasted duck in a grape blueberry confit was genius and easily the best game bird I ever tasted. An honorable mention and very honorable indeed was the pork chop which was thick delicious and tender. Randy provided an excellent night of service, knowledgeable and attentive. A very professionable waiter.
