   My favorite restaurant in Nashville. Something about an independent legacy restaurant where they pay attention to the smallest details. No rush and they accommodated the request to add lobster and jalapenos to the mac and cheese. Service was perfect along with every bite of food. Highly recommended.

   We had the filet tartare, Caesar salad and the sea bass with mashed potatoes. We were not impressed with the food at all. It was bland and average. Super cool, old southern house atmosphere. The bar area was gorgeous, almost gothic. Service overall was great, our main waiter was efficient but not friendly. Everyone else from hostess to bar tender was amazing. We likely wouldn’t go back unless we are seeing a show at the Pinnacle bc of convenience.

   Not only were the service and ambience impeccable, but my husband said this was one of the best steaks he’s ever eaten. Thank you for a memorable experience filled with traditional southern hospitality.

   For the average Joe, this would be the dinner of a lifetime. Fun history to the restaurant, old world charm, and fantastic food. But highly recommend if you are in Nashville and want to go big on dinner.

   to be honest, i never leave reviews. but i was so sad about this one! - i have wanted to come here forever since living in nashville a few years back, and now returning often for travel. - let me start by saying that the service couldn’t have been better! everyone from the door man to the hostess to the bartender to the waiters were incredible and kind and hospitable. - the food from the start was just not good. the bread brought out was hard as a rock. i ordered sea bass, and my first bite was my last bite. it was extremely fishy tasting, which sea bass is not usually. my husband got the wagyu special, and it was nothing special and luke warm. - again, i hate writing this, and hope maybe we just had an off night or the cook was out or something random, but i did feel for the $$$, the experience was worth noting.

    My steak was fine. The lamb was overcooked and chewy. One of the cocktails was supposed to be "floral" and it was too sweet to drink. Our server offered to take it off the bill and then didn't. The glass of wine I ordered with my steak didn't arrive for at least 10m minutes after our mains were served. They were not even remotely busy. The Tartare was good and the house/restaurant is very cool if you like a historical vibe. I live in the neighborhood and glad I tried it once but wouldn't revisit. Too many other solid restaurants in Nashville.
