    I have no idea what happened last night- our reservation was 6:15 and we were seated by 6:25. The tables around us had food that looked so amazing- and we were very excited to enjoy a birthday dinner with my husband and adult children. Everything went downhill from there. For a frame of reference, we watched the tables around us turn twice. Meaning- two sets of customers came, ordered, ate, ate dessert, and left- before we even got our main. We left at 8:45, feeling confused (the food was good), annoyed (where was our order? Where were the additional drinks?), and frustrated (we finally declined the sides to move the process along). The evening culminated with an extra item on the bill that we never ordered. We paid our bill +20% gratuity. Its not fun to go out to a nice dinner to celebrate a birthday and wake up feeling taken advantage of.

    We once again celebrated our anniversary at The Winery. As always, a great experience from the moment we checked in thru receiving our car keys from the Valet. Jeff provided excellent service, we tried the Wild Boar Special along with Lobster Mac and Cheese…all superb!

    I come here pretty regularly. Typically when I want to have a nice dinner some where quiet with a nice ambiance. I always request one of the half booths facing the water. Unfortunately the host staff will try to avoid giving me the table that I want at all costs and suggest a regular and less intimate booth which is not suitable for a couple trying to enjoy a nice dinner. I typically spend between 200-300 whenever I go there and I’m surprised it’s so hard to get the table I want, especially on a night like last night which was a slow and quiet Thursday night. NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: I enjoy your restaurant. The food is consistently good, wait staff is great, and the ambiance is always nice. However, if I have to fight for the table I want again in the future I will walk out and will never be back.

    The winery is by far one of the best restaurants in Newport Beach. We were celebrating a birthday and all of the staff there made the event very special. The dinner was fantastic as we ordered the salmon and the sea bass which were both cooked to perfection. Every bite was delicious and the mango dessert made the evening complete.
