   This restaurant is exceptional; every time, every day. We have been coming here for years and William treats us--and all his customers--with such respect and love. What's amazing is the consistency in the service, food, drink, and atmosphere. And, back to William...how does someone treat customers with such respect and love always, year after year, like it's the first day ever? Having been in the people business myself (for decades as a high school teacher) I recognize that presence of power; that treatment of clients like they are the most important thing going at that moment of contact; regardless of what else might be going on. It comes from an exceptionally high EQ, which can't be taught. Rather, it is the essential ingredient for success. The food is GREAT, but the service is even better from the hostess stand, to the server, to....well, William! We were treated to a new server tonight: Peter. He's a keeper. We're coming back to see him again! Great hire and he is equally grateful and happy to be working at the Winery. Win-win. See y'all again soon!

   It took 10 minutes to get a drink at the bar with only 8 guests in the bar. Paid $26.00 for a Scallop appetizer that had 2 scallops and 1 bite of corn. Ordered another appetizer the Pork Belly Lollipops. Received 5 pops and 2 were inedible. The mashed potatoes underneath were delicious.

   This restaurant used to be our very favorite special occasion spot, however it seems there have been significant changes since our last visit. I read the mixed reviews before we made our reservation, but we had previously had such excellent experiences there that we decided to go ahead with our plan. While the service was very good and the food tasty, there was no special seasonal menu, and all items were a la carte, even a sauce for your beef or fish was an extra charge. Portions were smaller, from the appetizers to the entrees. ( the octopus we got to share was one tiny tentacle, for example) The sides were a decent size but pricy. The tables were too close together- although the restaurant was not full, we felt like our family of four was so close to the two ladies next to us that neither group could have a private conversation. The temperature was so cold ( we were indoors ) both our party and the ladies at the next table had to put our coats back on. Based on this overall experience, we are unlikely to return.

   Very disappointed in our last visit. The menu has been changed to try to be a Ruth Chris or Morton’s. That wasn’t its strength. Used to have different dishes with lots of interesting sauces and sides. Now it’s a la cart with boring side choices. Chicken was dry with a bland sauce. Salmon was OK but presentation was sad. Bring back the Mahi Mahi, bread, and all the other things that made us come back again and again.

   Dinner was absolutely delicious! The salmon and sea bass were cooked perfectly! Chef Yvon is a master, and Peter, our server, was a lot of fun! Overall, a great experience; I highly recommend The Winery Restaurant!

    We have not been back to The Winery for quite some time due to the last not so good dining experience but we were quite happy about the food and service last night. We are glad to give it another try .
