An informal Italian restaurant serving traditional favorites along with excitingly new dishes. Trattoria Bianca is a favorite of locals, business people and travelers in midtown.
Bright and mostly white, it is a sleek reinterpretation of Italian Art Deco along with the owner's collection vintage food and wine posters.
Bianca's menu ranges from a simple bowl of spaghetti carbonara to a Tuscan-style steak and a bottle of old Barolo. Featured dishes: shrimp scampi on soft polenta; frisee salad with fried oysters, poached egg, and pork belly; seafood fritto misto; salmon saltimbocca-style with sage and crispy pancetta; numerous pastas and superb pizzas; Chianti- braised short rib, and lamb shank in rich pan juices. For lunch there are heaping salads and inventive sandwiches using Italian ingredients

    Come here every time we come to visit NYC. The beet salad looks amazing and tastes great We had the whole branzino. If you like branzino, this is one of the the best we've ever have. Prices for NYC aren't bad. service was very good. One guest was gluten free and we had no problems.

    We booked here primarily due to proximity to our hotel and available reservations but were extremely happy with our choice. Food was delicious, wine was great and reasonably priced and our waitress was just delightful.

    Slow service. Food below average. Adds 20% tip themselves without our consent. Did not deserve that tip. Server saw us struggling with the food and avoided us for any comment and then added tip without consulting.

    We selected the restaurant for its menu and proximity to MSG pre-show. We were there early (5:30 reservation) so it was a little quiet. Excellent all around.

    It's simply not a good restaurant. Service was just alright, but that's okay. I don't need the best service, just good food. I ordered the carbonara and he ordered the surf and turf. The carbonara was way too heavy for my liking and did not have any taste besides heavy cream. I basically ground every last peppercorn into there. The surf and turf was alright tasting, but we only got lousy two jumbo shrimp. We also have broccoli rabe as a side. Now, I know it's supposed to be bitter. but this tasted worse than the cheapest vodka shot. It was so bad. They did take the carbonara off the bill as I did not eat it. They closed at 10 pm, and so did their dessert station. So no dessert or entree for me.
