I had high hopes for this restaurant and had been eagerly anticipating a special dinner date with my husband here, but unfortunately, this experience fell short. While the ambiance was festive and lively—a clear highlight for many—the food and service were deeply disappointing!
Our meal began with an overdressed salad and cocktails that took a lot longer to arrive than expected. Once we finally got them, though, they were excellent, and we really enjoyed relaxing by the fire while we sipped on them, waiting for our underwhelming entrees. My husband liked his gnocchi, but my seafood puttanesca was a letdown as, on my third bite, I bit into a large chunk of sand from a mussel—an inexcusable mistake for any restaurant, especially one of this caliber. When I mentioned it to the server, they simply said, "It happens," which felt dismissive.
Hoping for a better outcome, I tried another dish recommended by our server, a pasta with large, undercooked chunks of butternut squash that were crunchy and unappetizing. To make matters worse, no manager even came by to address our concerns!
Fine dining is about more than just ambiance; it’s about delivering quality food, exceptional service, and an unforgettable experience. Unfortunately, this restaurant missed the mark on all fronts.
