Italian restaurant chain Zizzi opened the doors of its very first branch in London's Chiswick in 1999. Now there are over 100 branches, all decorated in an appealing contemporary style.
Wood-fired ovens, open kitchens and modern interior design with locally influenced art features make for a vibrant atmosphere.
As for the food, they serve up a variety of traditional Italian dishes including all the usual suspects: salads, antipasti, pasta, pizza, calzone, risotto as well as fish and meat mains and desserts.
What Zizzi really pride themselves on is sourcing good quality ingredients; salads are dressed with white balsamic vinegar from Modena, for example, and offer Goddess Olives, a variety known for their firm flesh and nutty flavour.
The modestly priced wine list is dominated by Italian wines, starting at £13.45 for a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. Hitchin's Zizzi has a great location in the centre of this historic market town, perfect for locals and tourists.

Good food as always. Ambiance in an unusual building relaxing. Busy as it was a Saturday but service kept pace throughout the meal.

Friends from work all got together and it was so busy but the food still came relatively fast! Lovely atmosphere and would definitely do again!

When we arrived they had no record of the booking and said they never receive opentable bookings so we were lucky to get a table..

Slow service, meals came out at different times so we didn’t eat our meal all together, food wasn’t particularly presented well & hot & we were sat upstairs & had a 7 week baby with us to be told baby changing facilities were on the ground floor. This meal was a family meal celebrating a special ocassion, although the staff were very friendly the service seemed to be extremely slow & perhaps the restaurant was under staffed?

We love the food at zizzi and so we keep going back but this branch has on three separate occasions made us wait for over an hour for food. Don’t go if your in any sort of rush!
